Manieren om Oekraïne te helpen

De situatie in Oekraïne is in korte tijd drastisch veranderd. De oorlog heeft onder andere geleid tot verlies van mensenlevens, verwondingen en massabeweging van de bevolking naar buurlanden. Volgens UNHCR, zijn er al meer dan een miljoen mensen gevlucht. Ze geven aan dat als het aantal vluchtelingen zo blijft oplopen kan dit “de grootste vluchtelingencrisis deze eeuw” worden. In samenwerking met OCHA en het Connecting Business initiatief, heeft de UN Global Compact de gids ‘Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis’ geschreven. Deze gids biedt concrete actie voor bedrijven ter ondersteuning van de drie maanden durende Flash-appeal van de secretaris-generaal voor mensen in Oekraïne, en een regionaal actieplan voor vluchtelingen voor de situatie daarbuiten, onder leiding van de Hoge Commissaris van de VN voor de vluchtelingen.

Wereldwijd komen mensen bij elkaar om te protesteren tegen de oorlog. Er worden initiatieven opgezet om de vluchtelingen en de mensen in Oekraïne te ondersteunen. Ook jij kan hen helpen. Je kan helpen met een financiële bijdrage, kleding of services, of spreek je uit voor een eind van deze oorlog.
