We, from the Global Compact Network Netherlands, commit ourselves every day to bettering the world. We do this every day through working on the SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals). We believe that young professionals are needed to enable this. They are the leaders of the future. They have new innovative ideas to make our world more sustainable and more social.

That is why, in 2017, we started the Young Professional Program. We looked for driven young professionals. And we certainly found them. Fifteen young people who are employed within different functions of companies who, with us and the network of Global Compact, commit themselves every day to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The young professionals are working in two groups on a high impact project that is related to the SDG’s. The young professionals are collaborating with coaches from companies which are members of the Global Compact Network Netherlands (KPMG, Witteveen+Bos) and are devoted to the SDGs every day. The young professionals are employed at Shell, Philips, Heineken, EY, Akzo Nobel, Delta Loyd, ftrprf and NN Group, among more.

Together with the young professionals and the membered companies of Global Compact, we have a dream for the year 2030. In that year, the SDG’s must be a fact. In the year 2030 we see a more social and more sustainable world. The 17 SDG’s will be a fact in 2030, meaning no more poverty, no more hunger, more qualitative education, equality, affordable and sustainable energy and many more SDG’s that will be achieved by 2030.

Do you also believe in the 17 SDG’s and would like your company to join our efforts in making a more social and sustainable world? Become a member of the Global Compact Network Netherlands.
