Welcome to UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. As a local network of the United Nations in the Netherlands, we stimulate organizations to align their operations and strategies with Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Our ambition is to accelerate and scale the global collective impact of business by upholding the Ten Principles and delivering the Sustainable Development Goals through accountable companies and ecosystems that enable change. Participating companies become part of a unique global network where knowledge sharing is key. Through a range of training programmes, toolkits, events and online courses, we support your organization in improving it’s sustainability strategy – regardless of its size or level of sustainability proficiency.

It’s not looking good, we’re way off track when it comes to the Sustainable Development Goals (source: SDG Stockstake 2023). Despite already being halfway on the journey to the 2030 Agenda, sufficient progress has been made on only 15% of the SDGs. Business has a vital role to play in achieving a sustainable, green, fair and social world. In addition to more and more companies having an intrinsically sustainable ambition and understanding the business case for sustainability, laws and regulations are also creating increased pressure for companies to join the movement. UN Global Compact provides tools for companies to increase their sustainable impact and communicate about it.

UN Global Compact helps companies capture, assess, define, implement, measure and communicate a sustainability strategy. We do this by offering training programs, facilitating peer learning, networking events and providing access to an online training platform. In addition, companies are making their efforts more visible by reporting through the Communication on Progress and using the We Support UN Global Compact logo.

With more than 20,000 participating companies and 62 Local Networks covering 67 countries, the UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. UN Global Compact provides benefits to all companies regardless of size, sector, location or level of expertise in sustainability. All companies that apply go through a Due Diligence process before being admitted. See which companies went before you here.
