Ending Child Labour is Everyone’s Business

The event is organized by Global Compact Network Netherlands and supported by the WNCB Alliance consisting of UNICEF, Save the Children, and the Stop Child Labour Coalition. Dutch employers’ organisations VNO-NCW and MKB Nederland support the event as well. On 18 March we will bring together the Dutch private sector and invite them to participate in the UN designated International Year for the Elimination of Child Labor. We are making progress. Child Labour has decreased by 38% in the last decade. But, 152 million children are still in child labour, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic this number is likely to increase. It’s time to shift from commitments to action, and that’s why during this event we will inform you about the global 2021 Action Pledge campaign, inspire you with examples by Dutch businesses, and stimulate you to make a pledge on behalf of your organization. Ending Child Labour is everyone’s business. Companies of all shapes and sizes can take concrete action in 2021 to fix problems in supply chains, support educational and apprenticeship programmes for the next generation and join forces with other companies to ensure sustainable progress is made, as well as stimulate collaboration with government institutions and civil society organisations. NB: The main language is Dutch
